Tl;dr - Research Participants required for a study called – What’s the Neurodivergent Brain on Music?
Researchers from the University of Salford are looking for participants to take part in an online study exploring how people experience and engage with music in daily life, with a focus on neurodivergent adults with and without formal diagnoses of autism and ADHD, and those who self-identify as neurodivergent.
Inclusion criteria:
- Aged 18 and above
- Have normal/corrected to normal vision
- Absence of neurological impairments, brain injury or brain damage
- Able to understand verbal and written information presented in English
- Able to read and communicate verbally clearly
- Have normal hearing or mild hearing loss (e.g., slight difficulty hearing in noisy environments) but can comfortably listen to and perceive music
The experiment involves completing a set of online games/tasks and questionnaires about music, attention, memory, and sensory experiences.
It takes around 30–45 minutes to complete.
Lucky participants will win £50 vouchers and can opt-in for follow-up studies offering direct financial compensation.
This study has received a favourable opinion from the University of Salford Ethics Committee.
