About the event

Our speaker is Megan Manson, head of campaigns for the National Secular Society, who will discuss the expansion of faith schools in the UK.

Megan's talk will cover numerous effects of religious-based discriminatory selection in children’s state education. Megan will explain why this is bad for social cohesion in an already fragmented society, considering the UK has never been less religious, and why an increase in the number of faith-based schools will only make an already unfair system more exclusive. She will talk about how religion is used as a conduit to fill spaces, with non-Christian parents being expected to adhere to the faith, and attend local churches, in order for their children to gain admission to Church of England primary schools and other faith schools.

We look forward to an informative talk, and invite members and non-member alike to attend.

Everyone is welcome, members, friends family and non-members.
